Last 8th March, an intense Inter-House Secondary Football Competition took place. The fighting spirit was very high, played by with mixed teams of boys and girls from Years 7 – 13. All teams were evenly matched, and which led to closely contested matches.
On alternate Fridays Upper Primary PYP students visit their Buddy classes in the Early Years and read together as part of our Pastoral Care programme in Primary School.
On Friday, our Primary Football Team played here on campus against XIS and started very strong the 2017 year, winning by 4-0. It was the first time our Hanova Football played a friendly game with XIS in this age group.
We continue to have representatives and admission officers from universities visiting Hanova. Last week we had Azusa Pacific University and University of Central Missouri, both from the USA. This week we will host the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
On Friday 17th February, our Secondary students participated in a ‘Celebration of Success’ assembly, during which our MYP students were awarded certificates for academic endeavour with subject prizes. We also recognised all our fantastic Year 12 students who enjoyed amazing success in a series of IGCSE exams last year.
Parent Information Sessions will now be held every Wednesday from 3.45pm and will be held in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor both for Primary and Secondary parents, starting on February 8th, to offer informative lectures for parents on all our DP, MYP and PYP programmes.
In the lead up to Chinese New Year our Primary classes last week were busy making dumplings, fans and dragons. The corridors were filled with the sound of drums and many children wore colorful Chinese traditional dress. It was a great celebration to bring in the Year of the Rooster!
Primary classes celebrate Chinese New Year on 20th January with in-class festivities according to the class and Year Group programs, with a variety of activities including cooking and crafting. Secondary students will celebrate the event on 26th January, with some house activities.
Our Learner Profile focus this month is Open Mindedness. The IB definition of Open Mindedness is to be open or receptive to the perspectives, values and traditions of others. Open-minded people seek to understand different points of view and are willing to grow from new experiences.
We are proud of our Primary students for the second performance this week of their wonderful Winter Concert, after the big success last week in front of parents and friends. All students have again performed a fantastic show
