After four weeks now, we are slowly getting into our stride and this last week has seen some more memorable achievements and developments. In terms of EOTCs, Year 6 has already gone to visit the Grand Mosque and the Qinglongsi Temple.
The most significant news from last week was the official ‘ground-breaking’ ceremony of the new school in Chan Ba Ecological Zone. Following local practices and cultural observations, the ceremony began at precisely 10.35am.
Last week, we commenced our “reading buddy” program at Hanova within the PYP and this will run every three weeks. Younger and older students are paired up for reading together throughout the school year.
hank you parents for your participation in our “Meet the Teacher” event held on Thursday.It was great to welcome over 100 parents into the classrooms to meet with the teachers and discuss the learning of their child/children.
We will be having several meeting opportunities over the next few weeks. We will be holding an IB Diploma information workshop on Friday, 24th August, and a PYP ‘Meet the Teacher’ event on Thursday, 23rd August. More details of these are below.
We are sure that students and parents in our Hanova community will be happy to learn that all our new teaching staff for 2018-19 have safely arrived and are currently settling into Xi’an. As indicated below, students and parents will be able to meet their new teachers at the ‘Open Day’ sessions next Friday, 10th August.

Our students attended the Rotaract Global MUN Special Edition 2018, which was held in New Delhi from 20th-22nd April 2018. The theme for the conference was “’Sustainable Development Goals: Fostering a Brighter Future”.
We are pleased to present a selection of the artwork that has been produced by our Year 13 IB DP Visual Arts students. These pieces have been executed in a variety of media and styles and are on display in the school entry’s lobby for your viewing pleasure.
