This week we had two outstanding performances from our PYP students, who presented their annual Winter Concert entitled “The Crazy Alarm Clock” on Wednesday 6th and Friday 8th December. The shows were a great success, and all the PYP students were deeply engaged and excited to be on stage.
Last Friday saw the introduction of a new sport at Hanova – archery. Under the watchful eye of our Athletic Director, Mr. Lynn, the IB Diploma students in Years 12 and 13 learned how to construct their bows, observe safety measures and had their first target practice.
Two of our students, Micah Rice (Year 11) and Jade Borisrame (Year 6b), both won complimentary prizes in the Little Star magazine’s “A Green Future” art competition.
PYP parents are invited to our annual Winter Concert “The Crazy Alarm Clock” which will take place the Wednesday 6th December at 6pm. Our Primary students will use instruments, costumes, dancing and acting consist to present a wonderful musical journey throughout time ages.
On Tuesday 31st October, the new Hanova Parent Teacher Association (HPTA) was officially established as an integral and supportive part of our school community.
Hanova’s 6th annual International Day celebration took place on Friday this week. A great time was had by all and our students took home a taste of culture from several different countries around the world.
This Friday our Primary students, supported by our school teachers and staff, staged a wonderful Halloween Parade walking around the school dressed in colorful costumes.
It was great to see so many parents at our first Student-Parent-Teacher Conference of the year this week, many thanks to all those who made the effort to attend. We believe that when parents, teachers and students work together, our students will achieve their personal best.
All MYP parents should then attend the Parent Information Session and the Parent-Teacher-Student Conference on Wednesday 18th October, to acknowledge the academic progress that many of our students have made in the first half of this semester.
Next week our school will close for the National Holiday week, which includes also the Mid-Autumn Festival. It will be the first opportunity to enjoy a break during this academic year and we extend our wishes to all our community, especially students and parents.
