It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which can only mean one thing: It is time for Hanova’s Annual Charity Market! This year our Christmas Market and Winter Concert Committees have already been hard at work preparing all of the activities, vendors and festivities for this special day. A special thanks to our committee members for making this event possible!
We counted at least 25 parents who patiently sat through a presentation about the Hanova Parent Teachers Association (HPTA); its purpose, composition and duties of the HPTA Committee members, and a brief up-date on the new school campus.
Thanks to everyone who was involved in this three day IB DP Evaluation Visit. In a series of meetings with teaching and administrative staff, the governing board, parents and students, the IB Visiting Team assessed how much Hanova adhered to and demonstrated the IB Standards and Practices that are required to remain our IB World School authorization.
Mr. Raugh outlined what Theory of Knowledge (TOK) was all about and, during the course of his presentation, solved a Maths problem. We all think we know the answer to ‘5 X 5’, don’t we? 25? However, Mr. Raugh showed us that alternative ways of calculating this gives us a result of 14!
On Wednesday, September 11th, the Year 8 students conducted their graded performance for their ‘Tableaux Vivant’ mini-unit in the Auditorium.
Over the last two weeks, the MYP Design Room has been a busy place. Mr. Ashworth, with some help from students, has managed to build a scale model of the new Secondary School building!
