We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making this year’s Christmas Market our most successful to date. Over 400 people – guests, parents, students and staff – were present on our campus for this winter community event.
Last Friday saw the introduction of a new sport at Hanova – archery. Under the watchful eye of our Athletic Director, Mr. Lynn, the IB Diploma students in Years 12 and 13 learned how to construct their bows, observe safety measures and had their first target practice. It was a lot of fun and leading the pack so far are Kai Trull, Rose Jiang and Leo Hu.
This week, on November 24th, at 6:00pm, our students will be at the Christmas Decoration Lightning Ceremony of the Hilton Xi’an High-tech Zone in Gaoxin District.
Hanova’s 6th annual International Day celebration took place on Friday this week. A great time was had by all and our students took home a taste of culture from several different countries around the world.
Last Friday 27th at 4pm our Secondary Basketball team began its season, with a match against XHIS. This is a new young team, after Hanova lost almost the whole previous team due to graduation and relocation.
This Friday our Primary students, supported by our school teachers and staff, staged a wonderful Halloween Parade walking around the school dressed in colorful costumes.
Our Primary football team started their season full of excitement and commitment. The team also has new players, who are bringing a lot of energy into the practices. Last Friday 20th at 3pm the team played their first friendly game against the Primary Football Club of Bodi School.
Universities continue to visit Hanova, as proof of their interest into our school. This week we hosted a fair featuring 14 universities, with many students and parents present at the event. It was great to see so many parents at our first Student-Parent-Teacher Conference of the year this week, many thanks to all those who made the effort to attend. We believe that when parents, teachers and students work together, our students will achieve their personal best.
Last Friday before the holiday, the PYP classes enjoyed sports and fun games as part of House activity day. This is the first of many House activities planned for students to earn House points, learn group skills and get to know students from different classes.
