This year the Year 6 students’ camp was in Foping. They stayed in a great hotel, tried some activities and had some different experiences. One of the highlights of these day for the students was the different activities, the BBQ including toasting marshmallows and seeing a very big bug.
The students worked hard to prepare their Exhibition for the display that was in the school’s foyer last week. The students had the experience of sharing their knowledge and skills learnt during this process with visitors from the Hanova Community and other visiting schools.
This year our Year 4 and 5 had an exciting 2 days camping experience at Jing Yu Hu (鲸鱼湖) Whale Lake Xi’an city, in Ba Qiao district. Students had the opportunity to be risk-takers and sleep in tents.
On Friday, 26th May, Hanova hosted a graduation ceremony for our seven graduates this year! All of our Secondary students along with parents, teachers, staff and school Board members were in attendance as we all celebrated this important milestone. We are proud of the great achievement of the class of 2017!
From the 11th to the 13th of May students from Hanova Secondary School participated in the ACAMIS track and field events competition in Beijing, hosted by the International School of Beijing. A total of 13 students went each participating in their own set of events, after few weeks of training and preparation.
On Friday, 19th May, Hanova’s primary students performed the play “Charlotte Holmes: Future Detective.” Teachers, parents and other primary students were in the audience enjoying their performance!
Hanova was happy to host a visit from Fairview (Malaysia) on Wednesday 26th April. It gave our students the opportunity to share their experiences of the MYP ( in particular the Personal Project) and to collaborate with Fairview students to promote awareness of Earth Day.
Year 4 students have been learning about Water. One of our inquiry questions took us to a slightly different direction as students wanted to know if we can change solid straight into gas They found out that this process is called sublimation. Thanks to Ms. Shirley, they were able to see sublimation of iodine. We enjoy learning trough investigation and inquiry in Year 4!
Friday 14th April we hosted a wonderful Sports Day, with several events, competitions and a lt of enthusiasm from students, teachers, staff and parents, who came to support their children. Many thanks to all for their significant effort, which has made our event very pleasant and successful.
Wednesday’s House soccer tournament was a success. Every House’s junior elementary and varsity elementary team played well. All Houses demonstrated the posters and cheers that they prepared previously. Students are developing a sense of cooperation and friendly competition, which is an important part of their social life in school.
