Hanova’s 6th annual International Day celebration took place on Friday this week. A great time was had by all and our students took home a taste of culture from several different countries around the world.
Last Friday 27th at 4pm our Secondary Basketball team began its season, with a match against XHIS. This is a new young team, after Hanova lost almost the whole previous team due to graduation and relocation.
This Friday our Primary students, supported by our school teachers and staff, staged a wonderful Halloween Parade walking around the school dressed in colorful costumes.
Our Primary football team started their season full of excitement and commitment. The team also has new players, who are bringing a lot of energy into the practices. Last Friday 20th at 3pm the team played their first friendly game against the Primary Football Club of Bodi School.
Universities continue to visit Hanova, as proof of their interest into our school. This week we hosted a fair featuring 14 universities, with many students and parents present at the event. We thank all parents and guests who took their time to attend. For more information on upcoming visits, please contact our University and Careers Counselor Ms. Zhu ( email@example.com ).
It was great to see so many parents at our first Student-Parent-Teacher Conference of the year this week, many thanks to all those who made the effort to attend. We believe that when parents, teachers and students work together, our students will achieve their personal best.
Last Friday before the holiday, the PYP classes enjoyed sports and fun games as part of House activity day. This is the first of many House activities planned for students to earn House points, learn group skills and get to know students from different classes.
On Saturday, 10th June, the Hanova community hosted its annual Spring Carnival! The day began with Carnival games, crafts, face painting and some live music followed by an amazing lunch catered by several local hotels and also provided by our parents and staff. In the afternoon, our talented students participated in the “Hanova Talent Show!” We thank all of our students, teachers, staff, the Xi’an community and Xi’an’s local businesses for their outstanding contributions to this day. We are excited to announce that all of the proceeds (over 20,000 RMB!) were donated to a Xi’an local charity – the Yellow River Soup Kitchen.
On 6-9th June, Hanova’s secondary students traveled to Luoyang, China. During the four day trip, they had the opportunity to experience Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) in a city full of history and unique culture. Each day was a new adventure as the students and teachers explored the ancient Longmen grottoes, learned Chinese calligraphy techniques, hiked to the summit of Yuntai mountain, watched fantastic kung fu presentations, learned kung fu exercises and played football with the monks, made Chinese dumplings and much more…
This year the Year 6 students’ camp was in Foping. They stayed in a great hotel, tried some activities and had some different experiences. One of the highlights of these day for the students was the different activities, the BBQ including toasting marshmallows and seeing a very big bug.
