The Day of the Dead, or “Día de los Muertos” in Spanish, is a holiday that remembers loved ones that have passed away. The day of the dead is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, mostly in Mexico, but also nations where there is significant Mexican influence.
On Wednesday, 27th October, the Year 12 DP English B students shared part of their cultural identity by hosting a special lunch with invited teachers. An important part of English B class is that students study a selection of 5 topics that are required by IB.
In September, Biology Y13 students went on an Ecology field trip. During the last two years, they have been learning concepts and developing practical skills that help them to solve real-life problems.
The 2021 Commencement was held successfully on Friday, 28th May. There were two parts of this major celebration of the year, a graduation at Hanova campus in the afternoon, followed by a celebration gala dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel in the evening.
On Saturday, 9th May, Hanova’s Board, Leadership and Secondary staff hosted Hanova’s annual graduation ceremony for our Year 13 Diploma Programme students. The ceremony was held in a local Xi’an hotel with the students and their families.
Featured here are some of the completed art works by our Year 13 and Year 12 DP Visual Arts students. Students undertaking this course have to exhibit their final works in the DP Visual Arts Exhibition, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, 13th March.
In September 2016, Hanova’s secondary students were introduced to three more universities: Washington & Jefferson College, University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, and the College of Wooster.
We have made a fabulous start to the new academic year in Secondary School, bringing back several awards from last week’s MUN conference, organized in Shanghai by the prestigious Yale University. On Friday, 3rd June, Hanova’s Secondary students proudly presented an original drama production – “Can You Hear Us? A Refugee Story.” The students acted out a dramatic collection of refugee stories from around the world.
On Friday, 20th May, Hanova held its fourth annual graduation ceremony for the Year 13 class. The ceremony was attended by the Secondary student body and was followed by a reception to celebrate this life achievement.
