We counted at least 25 parents who patiently sat through a presentation about the Hanova Parent Teachers Association (HPTA); its purpose, composition and duties of the HPTA Committee members, and a brief up-date on the new school campus.
Thanks to everyone who was involved in this three day IB DP Evaluation Visit. In a series of meetings with teaching and administrative staff, the governing board, parents and students, the IB Visiting Team assessed how much Hanova adhered to and demonstrated the IB Standards and Practices that are required to remain our IB World School authorization.
Mr. Raugh outlined what Theory of Knowledge (TOK) was all about and, during the course of his presentation, solved a Maths problem. We all think we know the answer to ‘5 X 5’, don’t we? 25? However, Mr. Raugh showed us that alternative ways of calculating this gives us a result of 14!
On Wednesday, September 11th, the Year 8 students conducted their graded performance for their ‘Tableaux Vivant’ mini-unit in the Auditorium.
Over the last two weeks, the MYP Design Room has been a busy place. Mr. Ashworth, with some help from students, has managed to build a scale model of the new Secondary School building!
Xi’an Hanova International School has received the accredited status from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) this July and Hanova (Xi’an Hanova International School) is the first school in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province receiving the accreditation from WASC.

The kids were fantastic – it was a very easy day for me and a lot of fun.
Just kindly remind you, our Sports Days are taking place this week. On Thursday, 18th April, our PYP students will have their Sports Day from 9.30am to 12.30am. In the afternoon, there may be some other fun and games.
As part of the CAS requirement for DP students, some of our Year 12 and 13 students have completed volunteer service for the Yellow River Soup Kitchen; an organization which serves people who are homeless or in need of assistance in Xi’an and surrounding areas.
