The 2021 Commencement was held successfully on Friday, 28th May. There were two parts of this major celebration of the year, a graduation at Hanova campus in the afternoon, followed by a celebration gala dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel in the evening.
We hosted the Hanova MYP Sports Day 2021 on 30th April. Our students competed in 8 individual and group Track and Field events with great participation. Some of our athletes were extra special in their excellent performance in High-jump and Basketball ‘Push’.
Hanova PYP recently hosted our annual Read-a-thon. This year’s Read-a-thon theme was “Reading Adventure 2021: Where will reading take you?” And what an adventure it was! Our students set extra reading goals and rose to the challenge showing how truly amazing they are.
The Year 13 Students’ DP Visual Arts exhibition opened on 23rd March at Hanova. Students, staff and parents took time to browse the exhibition and take in the creativity and uniqueness of the art!
On Friday, 12 March, Hanova’s MYP Year 11 students presented their MYP Personal Project exhibition to the Hanova Community. They spent much of day standing by their colorful and detailed exhibits, explaining and presenting the process and results of their projects.
It’s a pity that we did not have the Art Assembly this semester, so we used some pictures and videos to show students’ learning content and effort.
The Y13 students have completed their Theory of Knowledge presentations, which is the internal assessment components for TOK. All of them presented professionally, and the quality of most presentations are outstanding! Congratulations to our Year 13 students for stepping closer to their completion of the IB Diploma Programme!
One of the fundamental tenets of the IB Diploma CAS programme is ‘think global; act local’. We are really happy that we will donate the second rural library through a worthwhile beneficiary – ChunShan Educational Foundation (http://www.chunshan.org) with the funds that the Hanova community has so generously raised in 2019.
You should all by now have received email, WeChat and/or Managebac information regarding our online teaching and learning programmes that have been operational since Monday, 10th February.
On Saturday, 7th December, Hanova celebrated its eighth Christmas Market and Winter Concert. In addition to our hotel partners, this year saw an increased number of internal and external vendors, and a lot more market stalls being organized by students from across the whole school.
