On Friday, 25th October 2019, our staff, students and parents celebrated our school’s cultural diversity at Hanova’s annual International Day event! The celebration began with a flag parade. Groups of teachers and students proudly carried their nation’s flags around the football field. The day continued with crafts, activities and games from various cultures and a wonderful international lunch!
Mr. Raugh outlined what Theory of Knowledge (TOK) was all about and, during the course of his presentation, solved a Maths problem. We all think we know the answer to ‘5 X 5’, don’t we? 25? However, Mr. Raugh showed us that alternative ways of calculating this gives us a result of 14!
Featured here are some of the completed art works by our Year 13 and Year 12 DP Visual Arts students. Students undertaking this course have to exhibit their final works in the DP Visual Arts Exhibition, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, 13th March.
On Wednesday, September 11th, the Year 8 students conducted their graded performance for their ‘Tableaux Vivant’ mini-unit in the Auditorium.
Over the last two weeks, the MYP Design Room has been a busy place. Mr. Ashworth, with some help from students, has managed to build a scale model of the new Secondary School building!
Xi’an Hanova International School has received the accredited status from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) this July and Hanova (Xi’an Hanova International School) is the first school in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province receiving the accreditation from WASC.
On Saturday, 1st June, the Hanova Community gathered for our annual carnival – a special event featuring crafts, outdoor games & activities, a variety of food and beverage booths, a PYP Art Exhibition and Student Talent Show!
On Friday, 24th May, Hanova’s students, staff and parents gathered in the auditorium to celebrate the graduation of our Year 13 Diploma Programme students.
On 22-24th May, Hanova’s Year 5 students traveled south of the city to the Foping National Wildlife Reserve. During the 3 day trip, the students thoroughly enjoyed experiencing education outside the classroom through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
Over the next few months, we will be sharing our progress on the new Chanba Campus here on the school website and via WeChat. Working day and night, the construction crews seem on track of the schedule to have the whole buildings built by March 2020.
