On Saturday, 7th December, Hanova celebrated its eighth Christmas Market and Winter Concert. In addition to our hotel partners, this year saw an increased number of internal and external vendors, and a lot more market stalls being organized by students from across the whole school.

On Saturday, 7th December, the Hanova community enjoyed its annual Christmas Market and Winter Concert. Hanova’s staff arranged a wonderful event for the whole family – including venders from the Xi’an community, holiday crafts, decorations, coffee and hot drinks, baked goods and delicious foods from all around the world. All school proceeds from the event were donated to the local Chun Shan charity.
MYP Arts Assembly – Music and ‘Comedy’
In a very challenging but successful production of Sophocles’ play ‘Antigone’, the Year 10 MYP Drama students staged a very effective performance of this Classical Tragedy. To reflect this traditional drama, the students wore robes and ‘persona’ masks as the actors would have worn back in Ancient Greece.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which can only mean one thing: It is time for Hanova’s Annual Charity Market! This year our Christmas Market and Winter Concert Committees have already been hard at work preparing all of the activities, vendors and festivities for this special day. A special thanks to our committee members for making this event possible!
On Monday, 11th November, Hanova’s marketing and administration teams prepared a tour of the new campus and surrounding neighborhood for the Leadership Team. The group walked through several of the buildings on the construction site along with members of the Board. The visit was an encouraging look at how rapidly the new campus is progressing!
We counted at least 25 parents who patiently sat through a presentation about the Hanova Parent Teachers Association (HPTA); its purpose, composition and duties of the HPTA Committee members, and a brief up-date on the new school campus.
On Wednesday, 31st October 2019, our Primary students celebrated Halloween with a costume parade! They paraded through the classrooms in the morning showing off their costumes and then proceeded outdoors to enjoy a costume contest. The secondary students finished the day with a special assembly to give “best costume” awards and play games together.
Thanks to everyone who was involved in this three day IB DP Evaluation Visit. In a series of meetings with teaching and administrative staff, the governing board, parents and students, the IB Visiting Team assessed how much Hanova adhered to and demonstrated the IB Standards and Practices that are required to remain our IB World School authorization.
