On Friday April 20th, our Inter-house Sports Day was a great success. In the end the weather was kind to us and all the children had fun.
Last Friday saw the introduction of a new sport at Hanova – archery. Under the watchful eye of our Athletic Director, Mr. Lynn, the IB Diploma students in Years 12 and 13 learned how to construct their bows, observe safety measures and had their first target practice. It was a lot of fun and leading the pack so far are Kai Trull, Rose Jiang and Leo Hu.
Last Friday 27th at 4pm our Secondary Basketball team began its season, with a match against XHIS. This is a new young team, after Hanova lost almost the whole previous team due to graduation and relocation.
Our Primary football team started their season full of excitement and commitment. The team also has new players, who are bringing a lot of energy into the practices. Last Friday 20th at 3pm the team played their first friendly game against the Primary Football Club of Bodi School.
Last Friday before the holiday, the PYP classes enjoyed sports and fun games as part of House activity day. This is the first of many House activities planned for students to earn House points, learn group skills and get to know students from different classes.
From the 11th to the 13th of May students from Hanova Secondary School participated in the ACAMIS track and field events competition in Beijing, hosted by the International School of Beijing. A total of 13 students went each participating in their own set of events, after few weeks of training and preparation.
Friday 14th April we hosted a wonderful Sports Day, with several events, competitions and a lt of enthusiasm from students, teachers, staff and parents, who came to support their children. Many thanks to all for their significant effort, which has made our event very pleasant and successful.
Wednesday’s House soccer tournament was a success. Every House’s junior elementary and varsity elementary team played well. All Houses demonstrated the posters and cheers that they prepared previously. Students are developing a sense of cooperation and friendly competition, which is an important part of their social life in school.
Congratulations to Qin! Last 8th March, an intense Inter-House Secondary Football Competition took place. The fighting spirit was very high, played by with mixed teams of boys and girls from Years 7 – 13. All teams were evenly matched, and which led to closely contested matches.
Year 7 students were learning swimming under Mr.Lynn’s instruction.
